Your 10 Week Syllabus
Week 1
Week one of your H-E-B Internship is as exciting as it sounds – think freshman camp. The week begins with the Intern Kickoff – an opening ceremonies of sorts. During the kickoff, you will meet the other, almost 200, interns from across the organization (Stores, Corporate, Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Transportation) and get a chance to meet and hear from our H-E-B Senior Leadership Team.
Week 2
By the second week of your internship, you’ve settled in and it’s time to get to work – you have been assigned a mentor at your work-location, met the members of your immediate team, and received the details on your internship project.
Weeks 3-4
Weeks 3-4 of your internship are business as usual. By this point, you should be rocking and rolling and have established a rhythm for your day-to-day activities. During this time, some areas schedule chats with divisional leaders to enrich your internship experience.
Week 5
Congrats! You have reached the halfway point. Check-in with your mentor on your internship project. If you haven’t done so, let them know your plan of attack and ask for any feedback or direction so you can course correct before you get too far down the path.
Week 8
By this point, it’s all making sense and you’ve hit your stride. Like weeks 3-4, during this time, some areas schedule chats with divisional leaders to enrich your internship experience.
Week 10
It’s time to say “see you soon” to your fellow interns and friends you’ve made over the last 10 weeks. Our closing ceremony is a time to reflect on what you’ve learned and decide what you will take forward with you as you finish out college and/or begin your professional career. Congrats and good luck.
