Easily scan products and redeem even more coupons with the My H-E-B app universal barcode scanner feature!
H-E-B Digital is proud to announce that customers using the My H-E-B app on both iOS and Android devices can now scan products and coupons with the universal barcode scanner. This functionality, which was previously only available to iOS users, is now available to ALL customers! This means more scanning, more clipping, and more saving for all Texans.
Before, the My H-E-B app had separate scanners for product and coupon barcodes, which caused customer confusion (and errors in the app). The new universal barcode scanner makes it easier for customers to scan — and save on — the products they love.
Where can I find the universal barcode scanner?
There are three ways to access the universal barcode scanner in the My H-E-B app:
1: Tap the barcode icon in the upper righthand corner of the home screen or savings section. Then, tap “Scan barcode”.
2: Tap the search bar in the upper righthand corner of the home screen. Then, Tap the barcode icon in the search bar.
3: From the home screen, navigate to the Savings section. Then, tap “Scan barcode”.
With the new barcode scanner, you’ll be able to:
- Scan the barcode on product packaging to learn more about it on the product’s detail page. From there, you can clip coupons (if available) and redeem at checkout.
- Scan any coupon barcode in-store to clip and redeem at checkout.
Some coupons, like Exclusive Digital Coupons, don’t have an in-store coupon barcode. The universal scanner enables customers to “SCAN and SAVE” by scanning an item barcode and clipping directly from the product detail page. (It also helps save paper!). This feature will be supported with in-store signage too so shoppers can easily know when to scan and save.
