Copy of Save your favorite H-E-B recipes online or in the My H-E-B app! [Don't Touch]

March 07 2025

With this new upgrade, customers can easily save recipes to their account.

Since the launch of Shoppable recipes on heb.com and in the My H-E-B app, customers have been thrilled to discover new dishes or old favorites and easily add the ingredients needed to their cart. But, what about when customers wanted to save those recipes to refer to later?

This was a pain point we heard from our online shoppers. So, to solve for this, we created the Save Recipes feature, which replaces Recipe Box, and provides a seamless way for customers to save the recipes they love and easily access them later when they’re ready to use them.

“Over the past 1.5 years, our Design and Engineering teams have been building the foundation for meal planning with recipes — from a new recipe landing page to searchable and shoppable recipes. Since the launch of shoppable recipes in March 2024, we’ve received feedback across all channels asking for a way to save their favorite recipes. Our team is proud to be wrapping out the year with this feature that we know customers will love right before the holiday season!” – Cathy Shen, Sr. Product Manager.

Utilizing it is easy, next time you find a recipe you want to save, tap the new bookmark icon on the recipe image to save it to your account. When you’re ready to find a recipe you saved, visit the recipes page and tap “saved recipes” at the top. If you’re on the app, you’ll find your saved recipes by tapping the floating button near the bottom of the recipes screen. From there, you’ll find all the recipes you’ve saved to your account.

“This was such an exciting feature to help design as both an H-E-B Partner and customer myself! The ability to save recipes is going to make our online experience so much richer. Customers can now easily come back to their favorite H-E-B recipes when trying to figure out what to cook at home. Saved recipes brings value to our business and to all Texans who shop online at H-E-B.” – Molly Schluter, Sr. Digital Content Designer

We’re excited for this launch and what it adds to the shopping experience our customers already know and love. We’re continuing to gather feedback from customers and plan for new and exciting features as we move into 2025!

“I think for the past eight months my family just thought I helped in the deli since I’m usually found in the kitchen at home. I can now open the app with my mom and point to a function I helped build! ” – David Dinh, iOS Engineer
